Tallest Mountains in Utah

Tallest Mountains in Utah

Utah’s high-altitude landscape is dominated by the Uinta Mountains, a rare East-West running range in the northeastern part of the state that contains all of Utah’s peaks over 13,000 feet. Beyond the Uintas, the state’s geography is shaped by the iconic Wasatch Range—the backdrop for most of Utah’s population—and isolated “island” ranges like the La Sals and Tushars that rise dramatically from the desert floor. These peaks offer a true alpine environment, complete with glacial lakes and rocky summits that stand in stark contrast to the red rock canyons the state is famous for.
