Sunrise at Bryce Canyon

Sunrise in Bryce Canyon National Park

These are some photos from a recent sisters trip to Utah.  Ironically, we watched the sunrise from “Sunset Point” along the rim trail, about a mile south of the visitor center. As the name implies, this is a popular place to watch the sunset in Bryce, but since it offers views over the canyon to the east, it doubles as an incredible sunrise viewpoint. “Sunrise Point” is a short walk to the north along the Rim Trail, and provides equally stunning views.

Both Sunset Point and Sunrise Point offer amazing views of the sun rising over the canyon

Since it was late March, and the rim of Bryce Canyon sits at a surprisingly high elevation of over 8,000 feet, the canyon was still partially blanketed in snow and many trails throughout the park were closed. The rising sun reflecting off the snow-covered hoodos made for a spectacular scene.
