Tallest Mountains in Virginia
Virginia’s highest peaks are concentrated in the southwest corner of the state, particularly in the “Rooftop of Virginia” region where the Blue Ridge Mountains meet the Ridge-and-Valley province. Unlike the volcanic giants of the West, these are some of the oldest mountains in the world, characterized by lush forests and rounded summits.
